Summer  Storm

Dark clouds race across the summer sky,

billowing, swirling as they approach.

Yet I am safe inside.

Looking out, I see the lightning flash

and feel the thunder roll.

It echoes my feelings and emotions.

I hear the raindrops begin to fall,

tearing at the roof, as if trying to get inside.

Sounding like a staccato symphony.

Increasing in intensity, it causes the

house to shake and shiver.

Outside, the rain has become torrential.

Finally the storm has passed,

leaving silence in its wake.

The sun bwegins to shine again.
